The Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy

Anyone attending the Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy is going to get a high-quality education. They take pride in offering a curriculum that covers all the elements that a person will need to successfully work in this particular field. This particular program has been in place for more than 75 years and is still going strong.

The application process is in depth to help ensure that the best-qualified students are able to be part of this remarkable program. They do have a very diversified pool of students, though. There are some prerequisite courses that have to be completed before you can apply for certain programs.

It is important to take a look at that information before getting started. The minimum GPA allowed is 2.75. The PCAT is required to be completed and an application must have either their ACT or SAT scores as well. Other things looked at during the application process include previous courses taken, community activities, and leadership roles. Those students that are accepted will begin in the fall. On average there are 10 applications for each person accepted into the program.

They offer a six-year program that can then lead right into the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. However, many of their students are transferring from other programs for their second phase here. If that is the case, you need to make sure your courses will all transfer over successfully. Samford University is an accredited college and has met all of the guidelines to be categorized in that format.

The mission of the Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy is to both prepare and nurture students so that they have the skills to make a difference in the world of medicine and healthcare upon completing the program.
