The University of the Pacific Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy & Health Science was established in 1955. The programs are all accredited and they continue to be one of the highest recommended locations for those considering a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In addition to small classrooms with highly qualified instructors, they have close ties with many medical facilities where training is conducted.
This clinical experience is believed to offer students the right balance of experience to be successful in a career relating to pharmacology. In 2009 the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program was revamped, providing students with even more opportunities than they had in the past. In addition to the core requirements for the course, students now have more flexibility when it comes to their electives.
As a result they can choose those that are related to their own interests as well as any goals they may have set for their career. It is also believed that with this change, more students that start in the Doctor of Pharmacy program will successfully complete it within four years. There are several prerequisite courses you need to have under your belt before you can successfully apply to this program at the University of the Pacific Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy & Health Science.
There are also some joint programs that you may be interested in here. This includes the PharmD/PhD and the PharmD/MBA. There are other specific criteria that have to be met for these programs so make sure you look into that as well if it is a path you may wish to consider. The PCAT isn’t required to have been completed for the application process but you do need to have two good letters of reference.
