The Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville was established in 1957 and eagerly celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007. The private school may be small in stature but it stands tall in its ability to offer personalized attention to its students, resulting in a very high success rate. All interested applicants will have to complete the Pharmacy College Admission Test. In addition, all applicants for the four-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program must first complete a pre-pharmacy program consisting of at least two years from an accredited college. All transcripts, letters of recommendation, and PCAT scores must be mailed with the application directly to SIUE. The enrollment committee will choose certain applicants for interview. Those who are selected for an interview must also submit a written essay. This school of pharmacy takes their role in creating pharmacists for the future quite seriously.
